Smith, Dietrich
Pekin, Illinois Sergeant in the 8th Illinois, the German regiment, who was wounded in the arm at Pittsburgh Landing and returned home and later joined the 139th Illinois Infantry as a Lieutenant. Married Carrie Piper of Beardstown while he was home.
