Lutheran Church of the Master (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho)
In 1977 it was determined that the growth of the community of Coeur d’Alene was sufficient to warrant the need for a congregation of the Lutheran Church in America. In October of that year the first service was held in the chapel of Coeur d’Alene Homes (which at one time had been a college of the Augustana Lutheran Church). In September of 1978 a small first unit was dedicated on the permanent site. The congregation was organized on December 10, 1978 with 78 baptized members. The Rev. Karl A. Schmidt, who had been the mission developer, was called as the first pastor at its organizational meeting.
