Milner, Richard, Professor
Born in 1911, Richard P. Milner and his family came to Albuquerque in 1919. He attended college at the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of New Mexico, where he completed a B.A. in 1932. He began architectural training with T. Charles Gaastra in 1936, continuing under J. B. Burwinkle and Edwin B. Clarke from 1936- 1940. Milner also worked for U.S.E.D., Albuquerque Chapter, as Office Engineer from 1942-1948. In 1949, he opened the firm of Richard P. Milner, A.I.A., and continued this practice from 1949-1954. Milner partnered to form Burwinkle & Milner, from 1954-1960, and resumed his own firm from 1960-1969. Milner completed his career in the firm Richard P. Milner & Associates, which included partner Arthur L. Wood, from 1969-1977.
