Chandler, Craig C.
Craig C. Chandler was Director of Forest Fire & Atmospheric Research under the U.S. Forest Conservation agency. He oversaw and conducted research on fire behavior, fire prevention, and control of large forest fires. He and his colleagues created the Smokye Mouse program as a satire on Smokey Bear and the U.S. Forest Service. Smokye Mouse was a fictitious character whose purpose was to prevent fire research.
