Merrifield, Bruce, 1921-2006
Robert Bruce Merrifield was born on July 15, 1921 and died on May 14, 2006. He was a biochemist and won the 1984 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the invention of a solid phase protein synthesizer. He spent the bulk of his career at The Rockefeller University
