Traill, Catherine Parr Strickland, 1802-1899
Canadian author. Born in England, she emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1832. She wrote of Canadian pioneer life in such books as The Backwoods of Canada (1836) and Canadian Crusoes (1852).
