Adams, W. H.

W.H. Adams was a private in the Confederate States of America Army, Virginia Infantry Regiment, 8th, Company D during the Civil War and participated in battles from First Manassas through Appomattox. He lived in or near the Waunkopin Valley in Loudoun County, Virginia. He joined the Champe Rifles (recruited from Middleburg and Aldie) and went with that outfit to Leesburg to become part of the 8th Regiment. There they went into camp and drilled, each of the companies numbering about eighty men, but had no actual practice with guns until their participation at Manassas.
