Moulton, Edward W.

After his service in the Civil War and as a government scout, Moulton competed professionally as a sprinter and trained and managed football, track, and cycling teams. He came to Stanford University in 1903 to coach the track team and in his eleven years there made the program one of the country's most respected. He was a popular figure on campus and earned the nickname "Dad" from the students.
