Ford, Richard Earl, 1933-
Richard E. Ford (b. 1933) received a B.S. (1956) from Iowa State University and an M.S. (1959) and Ph. D (1961) from Cornell University. At Iowa State he was a graduate student in plant pathology (1956-1959) and at Cornell, was a research assistant in plant virology (1959-1961). After receiving his doctorate, he worked for the U.S.D.A. and the University of Oregon (1961-1965).
He returned to Iowa State as a professor in Plant Virology (1965-1972) and as head of the Plant Pathology Dept. (1972-1998) at the University o Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. In 1999, Ford became the Executive Director of the Consortium for International Crop Protection.
