Bradford Durfee College of Technology. Board of Trustees.

Bradford Durfee Textile School in Fall River, MA was chartered in 1895 and incorporated in 1899, but did not open for classes until 1904. It offered 3 and 2 year diploma courses and certificate programs in textile manufacturing, design, engineering and chemistry. In 1947 it was authorized to award the bachelor of science. In 1946 Bradford Durfee Textile School became Bradford Durfee Technical Institute and in 1957 changed its name to Bradford Durfee College of Technology. In 1964 Bradford Durfee College of Technology was consolidated into the newly formed (1960) Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute (SMTI). Subsequent names were Southeastern Massachusetts University (between 1969-1991) and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (from 1991).
