Ogle, Dan C. (Dan Clark), 1901-1990
Dan Clark Ogle (b. 1901, Keithsburg, Ill.-d. April 30, 1990), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from medical school and began service in the Medical Corps Reserve in 1929, receiving a Regular commission in the Medical Corps the following year. After further military medical education, he was named post surgeon at Chanute Field, Illinois, then Luke Field, Hawaii. In 1939 he was appointed war officer at the Army and Navy General Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He went overseas in 1944 as staff surgeon, 15th Air Force, in Italy. After a transfer to the Air Force in 1949, he was named deputy surgeon general, and in 1953 he became surgeon for the U.S. Air Forces in Europe, based in Germany. A year later, General Ogle was designated surgeon general of the U.S. Air Force with headquarters in Washington, D.C.
