Joy, Alfred H. (Alfred Harrison), 1882-1973
Alfred Harrison Joy (1882-1973), an American astronomer who spent most of his professional career at the Mount Wilson Observatory studying stellar radial velocities, variable stars, T Tauri stars, and galactic structure. He was president of the American Astronomical Society and of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (he was also a recipient of the Society's Bruce Gold Medal).
