Reed family.
Joseph Reed (1741-1785) was the oldest son of Giles and Mary Reed of Amwell, New Jersey. He was educated in Philadelphia, and graduated Princeton College in 1757. Joseph Reed passed the bar in 1763 and worked under Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
