Largo, David

David Largo (Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla) was a potter, educator, and advocate for the preservation of Native American culture. He resided on the Santa Rosa Reservation in Southern California. Largo is particularly known for his ollas (earthenware clay pots with a rounded bottom and incurving top) created with the traditional paddle and anvil method.

Largo worked as a tribal cultural resources representative monitoring archaeological excavations. His mother, Donna Mae Largo, a Cahuilla elder known for her basket weaving and cultural preservation work. Largo died January 23, 2020.
