Jensen, James C., 1909-1994
James C. Jensen (b. 1909, Fresno, Calif.-d. Aug. 27, 1994), U. S. Air Force officer, received his pilot's wings in 1932 and, after a 4-year hiatus, returned to active duty in 1937 as a fighter pilot in the 34th Pursuit Squadron. During World War II, he served with the Air Transport Command as commander. In 1954, after serving as chief, Operations Plans Division, Air Force Headquarters, he was named chief of U.S. Air Force Coordinating Staff in Canada. He later assumed command of the 30th Air Division and 30th NORAD Region; served as deputy chief for operations, Air Defense Command Headquarters; was commander of the Alaskan Air Command; and was appointed vice commander, Aerospace Defense Command, in 1967. He retired in 1969.
