Ira R. Foster (1811-1885), Civil War Quartermaster General of Georgia, lawyer, and saw mill owner, born in Spartanburg District, South Carolina and later lived in Terrell County, Georgia. Foster held the rank of Lt. Colonel when he served as Quartermaster General of Georgia.
