Barrett family.
Family of Concord, Mass. Farmer Nathan Barrett was born May 1, 1763, to Nathan and Miriam Hunt Barrett. In his young manhood he went to Maine and participated in the founding of Hope in Lincoln County. Returned to Concord on his father's death to take over the family farm on Punkatasset Hill. Married Mary Jones in 1795. Of their five children, Nathan (born Oct. 1, 1796) and Emeline survived. The elder Nathan--selectman and assessor for the Town of Concord, member of the Social Circle in Concord--died in 1829. Nathan Barrett Junior married Mary Fuller of Attleboro and, upon his father's.
(Cont.) death, took over the family farm. He was captain of the Concord Light Infantry Company, member of the Social Circle in Concord, and deacon of the First Parish in Concord from 1861. His first wife died in 1853. His second wife (a cousin) was Lucy A. Barrett of Watertown. Nathan Junior died in 1868.
