Omaha Magic Theatre
The Omaha Magic Theatre was founded by Jo Ann Schmidman in 1969, while she was a B.F.A. student at Boston University. The theater specializes in new, experimental musical comedies, which feature works on domestic abuse, teenage drinking, religious cults and women in prison. The scripts are developed jointly in a workshop setting. Megan Terry, who joined OMT in 1970, is the playwright in residence.
