Allen, Charles, P., 1844-1877.

Charles Allen was born in Irasburgh, VT, and attended their local schools and the Barton Academy. He also attended Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH. Charles Allen entered Norwich University in 1861 and remained two years. He was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Following his time at Norwich, he studied law in Albany, NY, but never practiced as an attorney. He lived in Peoria, IL, and later in Virginia. Charles Allen married Lizzie Pulsifer (d. 1877) in 1876 and the couple had one daughter, Lizzie (1877-1899).
