Porte, Barbara Ann

Barbara Ann Porte was born May 18, 1943 in New York City, NY. She attended Iowa State University and received a B.S. Degree from Michigan State University. In 1969, she graduated with a M.S. Degree in Librarianship from Palmer Graduate Library School. Ms. Porte pursued a library and writing career. She has won a number of awards and honors for her books. She is best known for her "Harry" books for beginning readers, but she does write books for middle grades and young adults. Biographical Source: Something About the Author, vol. 93, p. 160-166
