Heritage, Ruby E.

Miss Ruby E. Heritage, a native of Kansas, was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Washington. She was granted a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Columbia Teachers College in New York City. Her first teaching assignment was at Maryland State Normal School. Her attendance for three years at the Julliard School of Music was enhanced by a fellowship held for all three years.

Heritage then held teaching positions at Penn Hall School for Girls and Mississippi State College for Women. During WWII she served in the United States Air Force and toured the Midwest selling war bonds with the 571st Military Band as the featured soloist.
