Bowers, Clement Gray 1893-

Dr. Bowers was a native of Maine, Broome County, New York. After graduating from Cornell University (Class of 1923, M.S. 1925), he obtained his Ph.D. at Columbia University while working as a research scientist at the New York City Botanical Gardens and the Hicksville Nurseries. He returned to Maine, New York in 1930 and became a specialist in plant breeding and hybridization. He became a research associate at Cornell University in 1947. He taught botany courses at Harper College and the State University of New York at Binghamton.
