Vállas, Antal, 1809-1869.
Antal Vállas was born on May 18, 1809, in the present-day city of Budapest, Hungary. After moving to Louisiana, he was the first professor elected to the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning in 1859 and later served as Superintendent.
