Littauer, Lucius Nathan, 1859-1944
Lucius Nathan Littauer (1859-1944) was born in Gloversville, NY, and was a graduate of Harvard College, 1878, where he knew Theodore Roosevelt. He served as a Republican congressman from New York State. He established a chair, The Nathan Littauer Professorship of Jewish Literature and Philosophy, at Harvard in 1925; he also provided funds for the establishment of a Graduate School for Public Administration and for the Littauer Center.
