Universal Adding Machine Company.
The Universal Adding Machine Company was formed in St. Louis, MO, where it became an early competitor of Burroughs Adding Machine Company. One of Burroughs' first presidents, E. G. Langhorne, took over the presidency of Universal when he left Burroughs. The company was taken over by Burroughs in 1908.
