Butterfield, Georgia Hanna.
Spencer Butterfield was born in Illinois and came to Nevada in 1917. He pursued a successful career in the banking industry, eventually becoming president of the Bank of Nevada. He was active in community affairs and was named Las Vegas "Man of the Year" in 1947. Georgia Hanna Butterfield was born in Elko, Nevada to a pioneer family. She moved to Las Vegas in 1937 and began working at First National Bank. She married Spencer in 1944. Georgia was active in many organizations, including the Mesquite Club, Daughters of the Nile, and the Republican Club. She became the first postmistress for Las Vegas in 1960. In later years, she was an executive with International Hosts, operating gift shops in hotels.
