Trinity Lutheran Church (Culbertson, Mont.)

In June, 1930, a group of Lutherans got together in Culbertson and organized a congregation. They made a request to the Home Mission Board of the ALC for a pastor, and Rev. Charles Johnson arrived in July. New congregations were also organized in Bainville and Brockton, and the three together were called the Bainville Parish. Johnson lived in Bainville and was the minister for the three congregations. The first few services after organization were held rented quarters. The Presbyterian Church was offered for $500, and this amount was raised in one afternoon. The church was renovated because it had been vacant for a long time. Improvements, which included a basement, were made in 1935.

In August of 1941 a fire of unknown origin did a lot of damage. While repairing the damage, a chancel was added to the west end of the structure.
