McConnell, John Preston, 1866-
John Preston McConnell was appointed as president of the State Normal and Industrial School for Women in October, 1911. In addition to his duties as president, Dr. McConnell was involved in a variety of civic, commercial, philanthropic, and religious activities. McConnell served as President until 1937 when he retired because of failing health. He died in October, 1941.
