Merchant in Charleston, S.C. Born in Concord, Mass., to Tilly Merrick (elder) and Mary Minot Merrick, July 5, 1759. Died in Charleston, 1788. Brother of Charleston and Concord merchant/storekeeper Tilly Merrick (younger), who was engaged in wholesale shipping in Charleston (first as a partner in Merrick & Course, then on his own) during 1780's and 1790's.
