Owen, Marie Bankhead, 1869-1958
Marie Bankhead Owen, after the death of her husband Thomas McAdory Owen, became the Director of the Alabama Dept. of Archives and History. She retired in 1953 and during her tenure she was instrumental in having the Archives building constructed (1939).
