Cahalane, Victor H. (Victor Harrison), 1901-1993
Cahalane (1901-1993) was a biologist, author and expert on wildlife and national parks management. He became a field biologist for the U.S. National Park Service in 1931 and served as chief biologist from 1939 until 1955. During his service with the National Park Service he visited almost all of the National Parks and was a consultant to the National Parks Board of South Africa from 1951-1953. Cahalane was also an active member of the American Committee for International Wild Life Protection and the Defenders of Wildlife.
