Presbyterian minister and missionary in Neb. Ter. 1857-1861 and Colo. Ter. 1861-1862. Arrived Denver Apr. 26, 1861; elected chaplain House of Representatives Sept. 10, 1861; preached in Colo. mining settlements 1862; then left Colo. to serve as chaplain in Civil War.
