Edinburgh Society of Glasgow University Graduates (alumni society: 1963-: Edinburgh, Scotland)
Following an inaugural meeting of University of Glasgow graduates residing in the Edinburgh area, Scotland, the Edinburgh Society of Glasgow University Graduates was formed on 1 November 1963 . The chairman was Professor William S Tindall of New College, University of Edinburgh, and the meeting was addressed by Sir Hector Hetherington, the former Principal of the University of Glasgow, and by Mr Charles Oakley, the chairman of the Glasgow University Graduates Association Within a few months of its formation, the membership of the Society was 254.
The Society meets several times a year, usually holding its annual general meeting at some point between November and January, an annual dinner in April, and a summer outing to a place of interest.
