Roberts, Dorothy, 1906-1993

Dorothy Roberts, born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, was a poet and prose writer. She attended the University of New Brunswick and later was a reporter for The Fredericton Daily Mail. She married August Leisner in 1929. The couple moved to the United States in 1940, first settling in Ithaca, New York, and then later in State College, Pennsylvania. She became a familiar figure at the Pennsylvania State University, where she organized poetry discussions and readings. Her works have been widely anthologized in both Canada and the United States.
