Young, Blamire, 1862-1935

W. B. Young was born in Yorkshire and studied for his M.A. at Cambridge. He arrived in Australia in 1885 and gained prominence in Melbourne as a painter and poster designer. From 1929 to 1934 Young wrote for the Melbourne Herald as its art critic. He was also a writer and poet of some note, and his published works include Goya's Proverbs and The Children's Bread.
