Smith, Truman, 1893-1970
Truman Smith (1893-1970) served in the U.S. Army from 1916 to 1948. He was a military attaché in Berlin, Germany, from 1935 to 1939. He was a German specialist for the Military Intelligence Division of the U.S. Army, and personal adviser to General George C. Marshal during his army career. From 1947 to 1949, Smith was an advisor to the Eberstadt (Armed Forces) Committee, First Hoover Commission on Organization of the Executive Branch.
