Atlanta University
Atlanta University, now part of Clark Atlanta University, was founded in 1865 by the American Missionary Association with assistance also from the Freedmen's Bureau. Atlanta University developed graduate programs in different fields including liberal arts, social and natural sciences, and professional programs such as business, library science and business administration. In 1929, Atlanta University joined forces with Morehouse College and Spelman College to create Atlanta University Center. Later, Clark College, Morris Brown College, and Interdenominational Theological Center also joined with Atlanta University Center.
