Bascom, Flavel, 1804-1890

According to his son, Henry Bascom delivered a funeral sermon on the death of Owen Lovejoy and a memorial sermon following the death of Abraham Lincoln. Approximately seventy-five letters of the Reverend Bascom's are included in the American Missionary Association Archives and there are letters of his in the Illinois file of the Archives of the American Home Missionary Society. Also, that collection includes official reports by Flavel Bascom.
