Coddington, John Insley, 1903-
John Insley Coddington (1902-1991) was a professor at Harvard College. After he left the school, he worked for many years in the State Department in Washington. He was a Fellow in the National Genealogical Society and served as the society's president and was editor of its National Genealogical Society Quarterly. Walter Charlton Hartridge (1914-1974) of Savannah, Georgia, edited and published several collections of family letters and was the author of the text of a book of etchings and drawings of Savannah. He also published a number of articles on the Santo Domingo refugees in America. He was a student under John I. Coddington at Harvard; the two men kept in touch through letters and visits throughout the remainder of Hartridge's life.
