Miller, Sidney Davy, 1830-1904.
Miller was appointed as commissioner for the United States Courts on June 8, 1852, for a life term, by the United States Circuit judge. On July 12, 1869, he was given an appointment as Metropolitan Police Commissioner. He served as president of the Detroit Young Men's Society for the year 1861. In 1869 he served on the Board of Education as School Inspector for the seventh ward. From 1874-? he served as trustee and treasurer for St. Lukes Hospital, Church Home and Orphanage. He was secretary for Eureka Iron and Steel Works in 1883. In 1887 he was trustee and president of Detroit College of Medicine. Miller was a director of Detroit Savings Bank from 1888 until his death.
