"The Intimate Interiors of Edouard Vuillard" focused on self portraits and paintings of domestic interiors produced by Vuillard in the 1890s. It consisted of 104 works borrowed from various institutions and private collections in the U.S., Europe, Brazil, and Mexico and was installed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston between November 18, 1989 and January 28, 1990. The Houston show was accompanied by a 152 page catalogue and a two-day symposium. It then traveled to the Phillips Collection (February 17-April 29, 1990) and to the Brooklyn Museum (May 18-July 30, 1990).
