Born December 9, 1913 in Charlotte, N.C. Began working at Lance, Inc. (formerly Lance Packing Company) in 1932. President of Lance, Inc. (1943-1960). Served on Charlotte City Council as Mayor pro-tem (1951-1953). Chairperson of the board of Lance, Inc. (1960-1973). Retired in 1973. Died July 22, 1980 in Georgetown, S.C.
