Gailey, Charles K. (Charles Kenon), 1901-1966
Charles Kenon Gailey (May 14, 1901-May 21, 1966) was born in Conyers, Georgia. He received his commission in the infantry from West Point in 1920, and advanced to the rank of brigadier general in January 1945. He commanded the 43rd U.S. Division from 1952 to 1954, then commanded the Military District of Washington from 1959 to 1961. Gailey retired from Army service in June 1961.
