Loeb, Philip, 1894-1955
Philip Loeb (1894-1955) was an American stage and television actor. He worked at a number of theaters in New York as an actor, stage manager and casting director. He also taught at the Americ.an Academy of Dramatic Arts. In the 1930s he joined the Actors' Equity Association and was a member of its Executive Committee. He was accused of being a communist supporter and was blacklisted after being summoned by the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1951.
