National Museum of History and Technology (U.S.). Division of Costume and Furnishings.
The Division of Costume and Furnishings was created in 1969 from the Division of Political History, Section of American Costume. The Division's research primarily focused on the history of clothing and household objects in America with emphasis on the industrial period and on how changing economic, social, and technological factors affected the furnishings, clothing and appearance of Americans. In 1978 the Division was divided into new Divisions of Costume and of Domestic Life.
Staff of the Division included Rodris C. Roth, Associate Curator, 1969-1977, and Claudia Brush Kidwell, Assistant Curator, 1969-1974, and Associate Curator, 1975-1977.
