Langton, Jane, 1922-
American author of children's literature and mystery novels, of Lincoln, Mass.; continually inspired by the environment in which she lives, often incorporates the history, literary tradition, and landscapes of the neighboring town of Concord, Mass., in her novels. In addition to being a writer and illustrator, Langton also has taught at the Graduate Center for the Study of Children's Literature and the Eastern Writers' Conference, Salem State College.
