Beureau scientifique de l'Armée de l'Air, created in 1945 in order to conduct long-term scientific research in relation with other similar organization of the Army, to insure communication with scientific and technological research agencies, exploit operational and technical information and suggest future direction of research. The Bureau scientifique changed its name to Bureau prospective AIR in 1964, and to Bureau de prospective et d'études in 1967.
