Laslett, L. Jackson (Lawrence Jackson), 1913-
Laslett received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1937. He was an associate of Ernest O. Lawrence in the 1930's, working at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory. He served as the head and consultant of the Nuclear Physics Branch, U.S. Office of Naval Research at Washington, D.C. from 1952 to 1953, and the Scientific Liaison Officer of the British Branch, U.S. Office of Naval Research at London, England from 1960 to 1961. He also served as the head of High Energy Physics in the U.S Atomic Energy Commission from 1961 to 1963. The key areas of his research include accelerator theory and design, beta-ray spectra, electron and gamma-ray spectra, and photonuclear research. Died 1993.
