Pritikin, Nathan
Pritikin was born on Aug. 29, 1915 in Chicago, IL; attended Univ. of Chicago, 1933-35; became an inventor, developing patents in chemistry, physics, and electronics in Chicago, IL and Santa Barbara, CA; became director of the Pritikin Longevity Center, Santa Monica, CA and chairman of the Pritikin Research Foundation, 1976-85; publications include The Pritikin program for diet and exercise (1979), The Pritikin permanent weight-loss manual (1981), and The Pritikin program (1983); he died on Feb. 21, 1985.
