Lillian and Henry D Burton
Lillian and Henry D Burton lived at St Albans, a district of Christchurch, New Zealand. Apsley Cherry-Garrard stayed with them when Terra Nova visited Lyttelton on its way to the Antarctic and again on his return in 1913 (British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913, leader Robert Falcon Scott). During the expedition they wrote to Evelyn Cherry-Garrard (Apsley's mother) providing her with news of her son and the expedition in general. They also maintained a correspondence with Apsley himself during his time in the Antarctic.
From the guide to the Lillian and Henry Burton collection, 1911-1913, (Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge)
